Owatonna
Sharon Klein joined the Exchange Club of Owatonna in 2002 and since joining has been involved in all aspects of the club, serving in every office except Treasurer. She served as District Secretary for several years and is now serving as District 4 Director for Exchange Club of Owatonna, Steele County Club, and the Moonlighters Club. Her main interest is Community Service., as she has been employed by the State of Minnesota, City of Owatonna, and the Steele County Free Fair since her work career bagan. She has 3 adult children, 5 Grandsons, 1 great Grandson, and in July will add two more great grandsons for a total of "The Great 8"
Cedar Falls Club
Dennis joined the Cedar Falls Exchange Club in 2009 and has served three terms as Club President. He enjoys being involved in all club projects and especially the clubs' major program of service, Toys for Tots. He wanted to get involved in the Lakes and Prairies District to learn what other clubs are doing successfully and share those findings with every club in the District.
Waterloo & Cedar Valley
Sharon joined Exchange in 2005 where she served on and chaired several committees over the years. She served as the President of the Exchange Club of Waterloo in 2009-2010. She received the Club’s Exchangite of the Year award in 2009-2010 following her term as President. Sharon also served on the former Heartland District Board for several years and as its District President in 2011-12. Sharon received the Heartland District’s Exchangite of the Year Award in 2012-13. Sharon served as the Lakes and Prairies District President in 2015-2016. She has served as a National Volunteer Field Representative since 2017. Sharon received the National Volunteer Field Representative Award in 2020 at National’s virtual convention. She assisted with building the Exchange Club of the Cedar Valley where she currently a Board member. Sharon has recruited five members. She has been the Exchange Club of Waterloo newsletter editor for several years. Sharon joined Exchange for her passion for youth and community service in general.
Moonlighters & Owatonna
Katie joined Exchange club of Owatonna in 1996 where she served on and chaired several committees and the board of Directors including Club President 1999 - 2000, earning the Distinguished Club President Award. She then began service on the Minnesota District Board as Awards Chair, Secretary and then as District President 2002 - 2003 earning the Distinguished District President Award and the National Exchangite of the Year Award in 2003. She went on to serve 4 years on the National Exchange Board as the Region 3 Vice President. Katie served as the First Lakes & Prairies District President 2014 - 2015 and continues to serve on the District Board as a Vice President. She has served as a National Volunteer Representative since 2002. She is a multiple Club Builder and over the years has sponsored 40 new Exchange Members. In 2018 Katie was inducted into the National Exchange Club Court of Honor. She plays very active roles in both the Owatonna and Moonlighters Clubs. She holds dear the Values and Mission of Exchange and truly supports our Motto. "Unity for Service ". And of course we can't forget how she serves as the enthusiastic ambassador through her alter ego "Lena". Who has entertained many Exchangites and non-Exchangites alike with the help of her Stumpfiddle.
Steele County Club
Randy joined the Exchange Club of Steele County in September 2012 and has served in the Lakes & Prairies District since 2014 as a division director, and a two-year term as district president 2018-20. He presently chairs the public relations committee, which includes being editor of the district's Exchangite newsletter, and is serving as the interim Division 3 director, which includes the Rochester and Albert Lea clubs. Randy lives in Medford with his wife, Holly. The couple has two children: Amber, who is working in Mankato after graduating from Minnesota State University, Mankato; and Carson, who is pursuing his coaching certificate at Riverland Community College in Austin after graduating from the college's carpentry construction program in May 2022.
Waterloo
Sandi Sommerfelt joined the Waterloo Exchange Club in 2015, and has since served on and chaired several committees including the Kids Bike Races, Marketing & Membership, One Nation Under God event, Give A Kid A Flag, Veteran’s Way Banners, and was Club President in 2021-2022. In 2016 she earned the Rookie of the Year award, and in 2020 the Exchange Club Member of the Year and Distinguished District Division Director awards. This is her second term as District Division Director. As the VP of Operations at Grow Cedar Valley, Sandi is very involved in her community and has a passion for volunteering for Exchange and many other organizations including the Cedar Valley United Way, Friends of the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, Waterloo and Cedar Falls Main Street organizations, and as a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She is a proud mom of a very active 14-year-old daughter and two dogs.
Omaha
Tom joined the Omaha Exchange Club in 1987, at the urging of his father-in-law, LeRoy Olson, a founding member of the Omaha Club. Tom enjoys the fun and fellowship found in being an Exchange Club member, and enjoys making a difference in the Omaha community. Tom has served multiple times on the Omaha Club's Board of Directors, and has served two times as Club President. He is heavily involved in most of the Omaha Club's programs of service. On the District level, Tom has been a Division Director for 26 years (between the old Heartland District and the current Lakes and Prairies District), and served as Heartland District President in 2006. In 2020, Tom was named the District and National Exchangite of the Year. He has been married to wife Sandi for 50 years. Sandi has been an active Exchange Club member since 2002. Tom and Sandi have 3 children and 10 grandchildren.
